Caring for Your Community Scholarship

AWARD VALUE: $500-$1500
Caring for Your Community Scholarship was created in 2015 as a result of the tragic shooting at
Marysville-Pilchuck High School on October 24, 2014. The Foundation recognized a need for leaders specializing in mental health, counseling, social work, public safety, health and human services policy development, and non-profit management. Through this scholarship, the Foundation is committed to providing opportunities for Marysville School District students seeking higher education who have a desire to help those in need.
Our hope is that more individuals will seek work and opportunities in these fields, and meet the growing demand for support in the local community and communities across the nation.
This scholarship was originally awarded by the MP Memorial Foundation, which has since merged with the Marysville School District Foundation to provide greater resources to Marysville School District students under the Marysville School District Foundation name. The Marysville School District Foundation proudly awards several annual scholarships to Marysville School District Students which are funded in part by donations from Marysville School District employees. The Caring for Your Community Scholarship is funded by resources separate from these employee donations, as all students in the Marysville School District are eligible to receive the Caring for Your Community Scholarship. Applicants who would like to apply for the next round of scholarships are invited to apply beginning January 1, 2025.
AWARD VALUE: $100-$500
The Caring for Your Classroom Grant was created in 2019 as a result of the Foundation’s desire to support Marysville educators with more opportunities to expand their impact in the lives of students.
Research shows that nearly all teachers spend their own money on school supplies and other resources to provide an enriching experience for their students and to create an equitable and inclusive classroom.
With this grant, the Foundation seeks to support innovative and creative educators as they work to fill the gaps in resources, by providing engaging lessons and memorable experiences in the classroom.
The Foundation will accept self-nominations or peer-nominations, and applicants must be a certified or classified employee in the Marysville School District, demonstrate financial need, and explain how the funds will specifically be used to support students.
Applications for the 2024/2025 school year will open on August 1, 2024.
